Pretty Cool..

Postby Wayne St John » Sun Oct 21, 2012 3:11 pm

So I am still stuck at Ft Rucker continuing training. We were going over a block of instruction on how to "Identify additional training opportunities". Often it is hard for Army ATC to maintain proficiency unless deployed. I found it pretty cool that the paragraph below was actually included in the lesson plan.

Bridging the gap between dedicated ATCT and radar simulators are products like the Virtual Air Traffic Simulation Network (VATSIM - www.vastsim.net) within which Soldiers may train for, and operate, recreations of complex real world air traffic tower and radar environments such as Hartsfield-Atlanta Tower, Peachtree TRACON, O'Hare Tower, Chicago Center, and numerous international locales. VATSIM can be run from any personal computer with an internet connection.
